About the Image to PDF

Turn photos, scans and screenshots into a single PDF you can email, print or upload. Add your images, put them in the order you want, choose the page size and orientation, and download one PDF with each image on its own page. The PDF is built in your browser, so private documents never leave your device.

Every image becomes one page. Your browser first decodes each picture, which also applies the rotation stored by phone cameras, and then saves it as a JPG, or as a PNG if the source was a PNG. In the smaller-file option, the longest side is limited to 2,000 pixels, which is plenty for printing on A4 or Letter paper.

The images are placed on the pages using the pdf-lib library, which is only downloaded when you press Create PDF. For fixed page sizes such as A4 or US Letter, each image is scaled to fit inside the margins without stretching and is centred. The automatic orientation turns the page sideways for wide pictures. With 'Same size as the image', each page matches its picture. Pages are measured in points, where 72 points make one inch.

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine photos from my phone?

Yes. Choose them from your photo library. Their rotation is corrected automatically so they appear the right way up.

How do I change the order of the pages?

Use the up and down arrow buttons beside each image in the list before you create the PDF.

Why is my PDF so large?

Big photos make big PDFs. Choose 'Smaller file' to limit the image size, or compress the images first with the Image Compressor.

Can I mix JPG, PNG and WebP images?

Yes. You can mix formats freely, and GIF and BMP files also work.

Is my document uploaded?

No. The PDF is created on your device and your images are never sent to a server.
