About the Random Number Generator
Need a fair way to pick a number? Use this random number generator for raffles, games, classroom draws, testing and decisions. Set the lowest and highest number, choose how many you want, and decide whether numbers can repeat. The numbers come from your browser's secure random generator, so every value in the range is equally likely.
Each number is a whole number between your minimum and maximum, inclusive. The tool asks crypto.getRandomValues for random bits and converts them to a position in the range. To keep every value equally likely, any random value that would favour the lower numbers, an effect called modulo bias, is thrown away and drawn again. Math.random is never used.
With 'No repeated numbers', the tool uses a partial Fisher-Yates shuffle. It picks each number from those not yet chosen and remembers only the swaps it makes, so it works even for huge ranges without building a giant list. If you ask for more different numbers than the range holds, you get a clear message. The range can span up to 2^53 values, you can request up to 10,000 numbers, and sorting the list is optional.

Are the numbers truly random?
They come from the secure generator built into your browser, which is designed for cryptography. That is far better than the basic random function many websites use.
Are the minimum and maximum included?
Yes. A range of 1 to 6 can produce any of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, just like a die.
How do I draw lottery-style numbers?
Set the range, for example 1 to 49, enter how many to draw, tick 'No repeated numbers' and press Generate.
Can the minimum be below zero?
Yes. The minimum can be negative, for example -50 to 50.
Why did I get an error about different numbers?
You asked for more unique numbers than exist in the range. Widen the range or ask for fewer numbers.
