Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin that looks like real text but carries no meaning, so readers focus on the layout instead of the content. This tool builds its text from a pool of classic Latin words. Each sentence has between six and fourteen words, starts with a capital letter, ends with a full stop and sometimes has a comma in the middle. A paragraph has between three and six sentences.
The generator uses a seeded random sequence, which means the same settings always give the same text and pressing 'Generate again' moves to a new sequence. When the opening line is switched on, the text begins with 'Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit', which is the version most designers expect to see. When you ask for an exact number of words, you get exactly that many. Limits are 50 paragraphs, 200 sentences or 5,000 words.
